Seeking a benefited, full-time Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. Night Shift.
This facility is surrounded by the Sierra mountains. They are a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital two years in a row. They have some of the highest quality rating in their obstetrics program, their ER is staffed 24/7 and their pre-hospital and ambulance care is delivered by their highly trained team. They are also a teaching hospital!
Due to the number of deliveries performed at this hospital each year, this position can guarantee 36 hours per week of standby time and if a nurse would like more guaranteed actual work hours this can be accommodated by willingness to perform other RN functions in the labor and delivery and/or other nursing units.
The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups, utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluation) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. The RN provides quality customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all and adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. The perinatal RN demonstrates competence in the assessment and identification of the needs of the childbearing family and appropriately communicates and functions within a multidisciplinary team. During periods of low census, is able to work in other areas as needed after appropriate orientation.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current license as a Registered Nurse in California. Current BLS for health care providers. Current NRP certification or completion within 3 months of employment. Current S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification or completed within 6 months of employment. Current ACLS certification or completion within 3 months of employment. Completion of basic, intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring course with bi-annual participation of an AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Program or initiated within 6 months of employment.
Minimum 2 years Labor and Delivery experience required
