Full-time Director of Quality/Patient Safety needed at a top facility in California!

Director-Quality/Patient Safety Officer-Ambulatory – Quality Improvement
8 hour day shift
Responsible for the strategic planning, program development and operations for clinical quality, patient experience, and safety programs and initiatives that support patient populations/service lines throughout the health system in collaboration with/under the direction of the Vice President of Quality and Process Improvement. Provides leadership in the development of a culture of safety and the measurement of the quality of care identifying opportunities and strategies for performance improvement. This position supports/directs the provision of high value patient care and effective utilization and allocation of resources. The Director ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality related policies, practices, programs and is accountable for management and implementation of the quality program including: measurement and reporting of quality and patient experience metrics, reporting of clinical and outcome data on contract measures, education and training on best practices, and improvement techniques in clinical quality. The Director of Quality and Patient Safety collaborates closely with the service line leaders. Key working relationships include the Medical Directors for Quality and Population Health, other quality and operational leaders. The Director reviews/recommends and implements systems and strategies that will be responsive to the ever evolving needs of the clinical areas within the health system which shall result in high quality and safe clinical performance all while delivering an excellent patient experience.
Reports to VP, Quality and Process Improvement
Supervises Quality Analysts, Quality Program Managers
Required: Masters Degree in Nursing or other healthcare related field
For Registered Nurses – Required: California RN License, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
For Pharmacists – Preferred: California License, Lean Six Sigma or other PI model certification
Required: Minimum five years working in healthcare Quality Improvement or related field.
Computer skills, to include data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, information systems. Ability to collect, analyze and disseminate data, including financial and statistical data
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; experience presenting data and information to physicians and other clinical staff as directed
Experience working with clinical outcomes data systems and resource management
Ability to set goals and work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision; ability to prioritize fluctuating workload and times to meet position demands
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple meetings and projects
Knowledge of regulatory standards including Joint Commission, Medicare (CMS) and Title 22 (state) requirements
