NICU RN Clinical Supervisor

-Full Time Nights

-Must have Level IV NICU Experience

 

Overview

The Clinical Supervisor will assist the manager in planning, organization, direction, and coordination of the clinical and management activities of Surgical Unit including but not limited to:

  • Payroll, productivity reports, employee counseling, interviewing,
  • performance appraisal, personnel files, occurrence reports /
  • investigations and special initiatives.
  • Coach to staff in pediatrics, serve in charge position / team leader, as
  • assigned.
  • Create assignments based on verified competency
  • Supervise and facilitate the provision of safe and therapeutic patient
  • care.
  • Support the development, implementation and revision of policies and
  • procedures.
  • Manage human and material resources.
  • Assist as the clinical resource for department specific medical devices,
  • equipment and complex patient care activities.
  • Support staffing requirements and be available by pager, as assigned.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • NICU Supervisors work  3 – 12hours shifts.  They serve as charge nurse for 2 shifts/week and will have one administrative day/week as staffing permits.
  • The NICU supervisor is relied upon as a resource for the unit, so strong clinical experience in a large, high acuity level III/IV NICU is a benefit
  • If the candidate has not been in a supervisory role before, formal charge nurse experience is a huge plus
  • It’s occasionally necessary for the candidate to come in on non-scheduled workdays to attend leadership meetings/training and/or complete administrative responsibilities

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education
  • BSN Required
  • License/Certification
  • TX RN License required or valid compact license
  • BLS required
  • NRP required
  • Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in the Level IV NICU is required
