Step Down Nurse Opportunity in Southern Connecticut

Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice within State and Federal guidelines. Provide supervision of non-RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on assigned unit. Supervise unit activities when assigned to charge or clinical coordinator role. Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested.
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required, previous experience on a Cardiology or med-surg unit with high acuity surgical patients preferred. Nurse/patient ratio averages 1:3. Job details include closely monitoring high acuity patients with various diagnoses, caring for patients with a tracheostomy requiring ventilator assistance, managing titratable medication drips per hospital policy, caring for CIWA patients, and caring for patients post-surgery, post stroke, as well as other various cardiac/thoracic procedures.
Shift: Nights 7:00pm-8:00am, 3 days per week, rotation to weekends and holiday
This position is eligible for shift differentials working evening and night shift.
