Medical Technologist
- Performs the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical preparations of patient/clinical samples to assist a physician in treating or diagnosing different medical conditions.
- Maintains laboratory equipment to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Performs laboratory protocols and experiments with the guidance of the laboratory supervisor and manager.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Sample intake
- RNA isolation from blood and other samples e.g., saliva
- cDNA synthesis
- qRT-PR
- CData Analysis
- Operating, maintaining, and calibrating all general lab equipment.
Skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Research and analysis skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to follow biohazard guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to closely read instructions.
Job Requirements
Meet one of the following requirements:
- Be a doctor of medicine, doctor of osteopathy, or doctor of podiatric medicine licensed to practice medicine, osteopathy, or podiatry in the State in which the laboratory is located or -
- Have earned a doctoral, master's or bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or -
(No ASCP required)
