Histology Supervisor in South Carolina - Permanent Hire

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Histology Supervisor to oversee our histology laboratory operations. The Histology Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of histotechnologists and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the histology laboratory, including specimen processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and coverslipping
- Ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP, etc.)
- Monitoring quality control and quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of accuracy and precision in histology testing
- Training and mentoring histotechnologists and other laboratory staff
- Troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments
- Collaborating with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information
- Managing inventory and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels for uninterrupted laboratory operations
- Participating in departmental meetings, performance improvement initiatives, and strategic planning activities
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Histotechnology, Biology, or a related field
- ASCP certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a histology laboratory, with1 years in a supervisory or leadership role
