Job Summary:

Histology Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Histology Technician to join a dynamic laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to make a significant impact in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic analysis.
• Embed, cut, mount, and stain tissue specimens following established protocols.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
• Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens.
• Perform routine and special staining techniques.
• Assist pathologists and other laboratory personnel as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control protocols.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher in Histotechnology, Biology, or a related field.
• Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred.
• Previous experience in a histology laboratory is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer skills.
