Laboratory Supervisor job opportunity in Greater New Haven, CT! 

(Monday-Friday, Days)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Has mastered the responsibilities of a Senior Medical Technologist
• Will undertake daily laboratory procedures (i.e., clinical procedures, monthly wipe test, etc.) as needed
• Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory ensuring all procedures and activities comply with safety regulations and quality standards Accessioning, sample storage, appropriate sample identification, appropriate data filing and storage.
• Maintaining current chemical storage and MSDS documentation
• Review laboratory reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards
• Lead special projects, such as the implementation of new laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or the introduction of new testing methodologies, to enhance laboratory capabilities and services
• Managing personnel to ensure a competent and motivated team
• Training, competency, and continuing education
• Hiring and onboarding new employees
• Ensures all annual training is complete (safety, compliance, HIPAA, etc.)
• Implement and maintain quality control and assurance programs to meet internal and external requirements and improve laboratory efficiency
• Maintaining equipment and supplies
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in laboratory processes and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations
• Oversees general laboratory housekeeping
• Support and facilitation of various facets of research projects
• Prioritizes laboratory work to reflect research needs
• Organizes research data sets
• Coordinates with research partners as needed
• Manages goals within defined target timeframes
• Support the Laboratory Manager’s functions, including but not limited to:
• Continuous process improvement
• Inventory control management
• Maintain laboratory procedural manuals
• Participating in employee performance reviews
• Participating in employee interviews
