Job Description: Mammographer
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammographer to join our team. As a Mammographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography exams to assist in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. You will work closely with radiologists, breast care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care and accurate imaging results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and diagnostic mammography exams according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Position patients correctly to ensure accurate imaging and comfort during the procedure.
- Ensure the safety and privacy of patients while performing mammograms, explaining the procedure and addressing concerns.
- Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and compliance with safety standards.
- Review images for quality, making necessary adjustments and additional images if required.
- Work collaboratively with radiologists to ensure proper image interpretation and assist with any follow-up diagnostic needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data in the electronic medical record system, ensuring confidentiality.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols.
- Stay up to date with advancements in mammography techniques and imaging technology through continuing education and training.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Certification in Mammography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certification.
- Current state licensure (if applicable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of breast anatomy and mammography procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and the healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a mammographer in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of advanced imaging techniques (e.g., digital mammography, 3D mammography).
- Experience with breast biopsy procedures and other diagnostic imaging procedures.
