Medical Physicist - Radiation Therapy
Job Description
A large, award-winning, state-of-the-art, top teaching hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Physicist to join their Radiation Department.
This is a full time, permanent position. Here is more information:
Location: Palm Springs, CA
Schedule: Days
Patient population: Adults and geriatric
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and dosimetrist to develop individualized radiation treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Perform routine and periodic quality assurance on radiation therapy equipment (e.g., linear accelerators, imaging systems) to ensure precise and accurate delivery of radiation.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, protocols, and regulations.
- Calculate, verify, and monitor radiation doses to ensure treatments are delivered with optimal accuracy while minimizing harm to surrounding healthy tissue.
- Stay abreast of the latest advances in radiation therapy technologies, including emerging treatment modalities, and contribute to research initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
- Work closely with clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that the treatment plans are executed safely and effectively.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Masters in Medical Physics, Radiation Physics, or a related field
- Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the ABR or ABMP
- 3 years of radiation therapy experience (IMRT, stereotactic radiosurgery)
