Job Description

Position Scope:
The Microbiology Supervisor is a highly collaborative, influential, and experienced leader responsible for providing
overall operational leadership for the laboratory and promoting a culture of quality. Under the general direction
of the Laboratory Director and Medical Director, the Microbiology Supervisor is responsible for validation,
implementation, and advancements in microbiology. The Microbiology Supervisor is responsible for the overall
direction, staff training and management, and day-to-day performance of the microbiology department by
ensuring consistent processes and effective operations, maintenance, and security levels. Collaborates internally
and externally to resolve technical problems and issues. Responsibilities include writing policies and procedures,
development of strategies for continuous improvement to ensures that effective and efficient laboratory services
are provided.

 

 

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
5 years of experience in working in a laboratory, both clinical and microbiology testing experience
3+ years of managerial experience, highly preferred
Experience with FDA inspections preferred
Interest in working as part of a small and growing company, with awareness
about the opportunities and challenges that come with a highly adaptive environment
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty
Ability to retain confidential information
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to present a professional image to management, staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization to influence participation in quality and
process improvement related activities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and Word, and LIMS
Style alignment with a strengths-oriented team environment and the ability to naturally elevate others
