This nationally-ranked, public academic health center is seeking a Nurse Supervisor for their adolescent care unit. You will be working with ages 12-19 years old who have dealt with abuse, addiction, homelessness, trafficking, and more. DESCRIPTION
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager or designee, the Nurse Supervisor…
- Provides nursing care and participates as a member of the mental health treatment team in an intensive adolescent treatment program.
- Performs nursing activities in accordance with licensures by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the policies and procedures of the patient care area.
- Assists with the delivery of direct care, including provision for safety and milieu activities.
- Takes an active role in re-acclimating individuals to the larger community.
- Provides trauma informed care and promotes a person-centered, skills-based collaborative philosophy.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently registered by the Board of Registration in Nursing for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- 1-3 years of nursing experience, at least 1 year in a preceptor or charge nurse role
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with people who are under emotional stress.
- Must be able to assist with the physical management of individuals in crisis.
