Job Description

Job Title: Radiologist Assistant
Location: North Dakota
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (No weekends required)
Pay Range: $47.55 - $71.33 per hour


Summary:

The Radiologist Assistant performs radiologic exams and procedures within their scope of licensure and under the direction of a Radiologist. This role includes assisting the Radiologist as needed and ensuring all required documentation and procedures are followed. The Radiologist Assistant may also perform other duties as assigned to meet department and organizational needs.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete and maintain required documentation to meet the needs of the Radiology physician, including appropriate reasons for exams and Continuing Medical Education (CME) documentation for Radiologists and staff.
  • Ensure that proper consent is acquired for exams requiring it and verify patient identification through armband for inpatients and verbal confirmation for outpatients.
  • Provide medical images and exams of the highest quality, ensuring they meet department standards.
  • Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast under the direction of a Radiologist according to standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate, initiate, and participate in restructuring of current and new procedures.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and physicians regarding procedures and techniques, and train staff as needed for exams performed.
  • Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to meet the needs of the department or organization.

Certifications:

  • Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – Required prior to start date.
  • North Dakota Medical Imaging License from the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners – Required prior to start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) – Must be obtained within 90 days of start date.

Qualifications:

  • Must be certified and registered with ARRT in Radiography.
  • Must complete an ARRT-approved Radiologist Assistant master's or doctoral program.

Notes:

  • This position requires the completion of specific certifications and licensure prior to starting the role, including ARRT registration and a North Dakota Medical Imaging License.
  • Must be capable of managing technical and clinical aspects of radiology, assisting the Radiologist, and training and guiding staff members effectively.
